Ms Fox’s class

We tested material to see if it was absorbent or waterproof. We used plastic, glass and rubber and they were all waterproof. Later we tested tissue and cotton and they were all absorbent. When we were finished we filled out a sheet about the waterproof and absorbent materials. We really enjoyed it because we learnt a lot.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

admin : March 16, 2018 2:22 pm : Mr. MacLochlainn, Mr. Monahan, Mr. Mulhall, Ms. Fox, Ms. Mahoney, Ms. McCarthy, Ms. McTigue, Ms. Murray, News

On the 8th of March all the classes took part in Ceolchoirm Seachtain na Gaeilge. Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Week) is celebrated over 2 weeks in the run up to St. Patrick’s Day each year. During that fortnight we make an extra effort to speak Irish during our school day and celebrate all things Irish at our annual concert. Each class performed songs, tunes on the tin whistles and poems ‘as Gaeilge’. Some of 5th and 6th class boys volunteered to take part in a play organised by Ms. Lawless and Ms. Broderick called The Wizard Of Oz. All the performances were very good and well performed. At the end we sang the Ireland national anthem, Amhrán na bhFiann. It was a lovely day.

1st class made pancakes on pancake Tuesday. We made the batter with milk, flour and eggs. Ms McGuinness and Ms Fox helped us. We put sugar and lemon juice on the top of them. After that we ate. They were very nice.

Our Snowman

admin : February 22, 2018 2:18 pm : Ms. Fox

When it snowed we made a snowman together. When we made the body we jumped up and down on it. When we put on the head we gave it grass as hair, twigs as arms and stones as eyes. When we finished the snowman it looked amazing. It was very fun for the whole class. We went back in when the ball rang and the teachers made us delicious hot chocolate. It was a very funny day.

Hyacinth Bulbs

admin : February 8, 2018 2:31 pm : Green Schools, Ms. Fox

First class planted hyacinth bulbs in soil. We watered them every second day. When they came up they were different colours. We really enjoyed it because it was fun. Some of them have not come up yet but it was cool to see those that did. Here are some pictures from our class.
