In maths we did measuring. We measured the class room with meter sticks. We learned that millimetres are smaller than centimetres. We measured the window in the class. We measured our class and the class next door and we measured the corridor outside our class. We compared the meter stick’s length to the chair’s length then we used the meter stick to measure some string. The string was almost a meter long.

This year we did a Christmas Play based on the X Factor. it was fun and we got to go home early. We also got no homework. It took a long time to learn our lines but it was worth it. The judges were really funny and we loved performing it for our school mates and our parents.

In art we had lots of fun making 3D snowmen. In history we learned all about cavemen, which was very interesting. We learned about lots of the bones of our bodies in science. In PE we had fun playing badminton and skipping. In Irish we did a new poem called: ‘obair an dian’
In English we did some fun rhymes and finished a story about two foolish brothers in our story book and later we wrote three wishes for free writing.

Over the past couple of weeks the boys have been working hard to gather as many shoeboxes, filled with some Christmas gifts, for those in need for Team Hope’s annual appeal. The boys (and their parents!) have done so well and have collected an amazing 120 boxes to be sent to those in need this Christmas. It was a brilliant effort by everyone involved and all your efforts are hugely appreciated. Well done all!

Art and history

We did the stone age in history this week. We did pop goes the weasel with tin whistles. We did a call and response and we read Harry the hedgehog. We also did 8s 4s and 2s in division and we did a poem about a centipede called Do Not Let a Centipede. Before the mid term break we went to the library to listen on an author called Gerard Siggins. He told us some of his story and it was really good. We also did a maths trail around the school which was great fun. Have a look at some pictures of those below as well as pictures of our 10 @ 10 exercise that we have started again.
