Our Green School Committee oversees the implementation of the Green School programme in our school and is currently working on the theme of Biodiversity. We have already been awarded four Green Flags by An Taisce in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016 for the successful implementation of our Green School efforts. these include implementing a litter and waste management programme, conserving both energy and water in our school and for adopting sustainable travel methods when possible, while travelling to and from school. over the past two years, we have been working on the theme of Biodiversity, with the aim of achieving our fifth Green Flag this year. Through the Biodiversity programme, we have become more aware of our local natural environment and the birds, minibeasts, trees and plants that surround us. Every class has been involved in environmental activities including studying a variety of animals and their habitats, going on nature walks, planting seeds and bulbs, making bird feeders and partaking in minibeast hunts.
