MANNING CUP 2022
Our athletics team took part in the Manning Athletics event in Bushfield, where we competed against pupils from seven other local schools in a variety of athletic events. These events included the long jump, ball throw, hurdles, sprint and long distance running and relay events.
It was wonderful to have the opportunity to partake once again after a break of three years. There were wonderful displays of athleticism on the night by our boys and we were delighted to be crowned overall winners in the boy category. We were awarded the John Manning perpetual trophy and are thrilled to have retained our title. Well done to all involved.
Cross County Championships 2023
Well done to our cross country athletics teams who participated in the Galway Cross Country Championship series. Following stellar performances over tough terrain by both the junior and the senior teams in the preliminary round, both teams qualified for the finals in Renmore. On occasion, despite unfavourable weather, the boys once again ran a fantastic race.
The junior team qualified for the Connaught Final finishing in 1st position with the senior team narrowly losing out. The Connaught Final was held in Longford and once again, the boys represented themselves and our school magnificently. They finished in third place - a wonderful achievement.
